For a color that matches almost any decor in a wide variety of styling options, you can’t go wrong with grey. Now considered a neutral just as much as beige, all types of furnishings are now available in greys from couches to countertops to curtains. Shades of grey in both solids and prints consistently top our list of best selling materials for custom window treatments. From the deep richness of Wool Sateen in Ash, to the geometric lines of Pismo in Sterling, grey curtains can be a focal point or blend into the walls to make virtually any style statement you like.

Grey Curtains in a Neutral Color Scheme
In monochromatic or muted designs, grey curtains add just the right amount of texture and softness to a space while maintaining a continuity in tone. With light walls, light greys can blend in with the colors around them while still providing light blockage and privacy if needed with the addition of linings. Darker greys can be used to pick up on accents like throw pillows, art, or furniture pieces to give the space a cohesive look.
When creating your color scheme, consider the undertones of the greys you’re using and try to stick to one family. Some greys have blue undertones (best for cooler palettes) while others have brown tones (warmer palettes). Hang swatches on your windows or place them up against other pieces in the room to see if the colors mesh well together.
If the rest of the room is simple, patterned grey materials can add interest to walls and a beautiful frame to large windows or sliding doors.

Grey Curtains as a Backdrop for Color
Even if you love color, grey curtains can act as a timeless backdrop for colorful art, furniture, pillows, and rugs. Light greys are wonderful at helping colors pop, fading into the background and letting accent pieces shine. They can also balance out brighter paint colors on the walls. Clean, neutral curtains can withstand the test of time and stay in a room through many decor changes.
