ORDER CUSTOM WITH CONFIDENCE


As a third-generation family-run business, we believe nothing is more important than our customers’ satisfaction. From initial interaction to long after your products have been installed, we want to make sure you are happy with your experience and remain a lifelong customer. Below is our Limited Lifetime Warranty, along with some policies we hope you will find helpful. If you have any questions, please reach out and we’ll be happy to discuss further.

LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY


The Shade Store products are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship that result in a failure to operate for as long as the original purchaser owns the product, except for certain limitations noted below.

Covered:


  • Internal mechanisms, for life of the product
  • Components and brackets, for life of the product
  • Operational cords and chains, for 7 years from original installation date
  • Motorization components, for 5 years from original installation date
  • Re-measure and re-installation are free of charge for any warranty issues on products that were measured and installed by our professionals

Not Covered:


  • Any conditions caused by normal wear and tear, including fraying and stretching
  • Damage resulting from abuse, misuse, accidents, or relocations of product
  • Exposure to the elements (sun, wind, water/moisture) and discoloration or fading over time
  • Normal variation in material color, dye lots, grain, and texture, and imperfections inherent to natural products (such as slight bowing of wood products)
  • Failure to follow our instructions on proper installation, care, cleaning, or maintenance
  • Normal maintenance associated with motors and related accessories including, but not limited to, recharging and replacement of batteries
  • Shipping costs, costs of removal, re-measuring, or reinstallation of products that were not installed by our professionals
  • Third-party interference (includes any condition or damage resulting from measurement, installation, removal, relocation, alteration, repair, or reinstallation of the product by anyone other than The Shade Store’s authorized professionals)

Matching & Repaired Items:


  • Due to the custom nature of our products, should a product need to be replaced, we will do our best to match the original product as closely as possible, but exact matching cannot be guaranteed.
  • Repairs and replacements will be made with like or similar parts.
  • If there are multiple products in the same room, only the defective product will be repaired or replaced.
  • Replaced or repaired products are warranted for the remainder of the original Limited Warranty period, or 30 days, whichever is longer.

Returns & Refunds:


  • Due to the custom nature of our products, The Shade Store does not offer returns.
  • Repairs and replacements will be made with like or similar parts.
  • Your sole remedy under this Limited Warranty is for us to, at our option, repair or replace the defective product as described above.

Additional Information


This Limited Warranty is given by The Shade Store, LLC, whose registered address is 21 Abendroth Avenue, Port Chester, NY, 10573.

Warranty service for window treatments purchased through a member of the trade may require additional verification and is only available at the original installation address for the original end-client of the trade member.

No agent, representative, dealer, or employee of The Shade Store has the authority to increase, extend, or alter the obligations under this Limited Warranty.

TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THIS LIMITED WARRANTY IS EXCLUSIVE OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES AND REMEDIES, WHETHER ORAL, WRITTEN, STATUTORY, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, AND THE SHADE STORE DISCLAIMS ALL STATUTORY AND IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. TO THE EXTENT IMPLIED WARRANTIES CANNOT BE DISCLAIMED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW, THE SHADE STORE LIMITS THE DURATION OF SUCH IMPLIED WARRANTIES TO THOSE SET OUT IN THIS LIMITED WARRANTY.

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL THE SHADE STORE’S LIABILITY EXCEED THE ACTUAL AMOUNT PAID BY YOU FOR THE DEFECTIVE PRODUCT, AND NEITHER THE SHADE STORE, NOR ITS AFFILIATES, SUPPLIERS, MANUFACTURERS, OR RESELLERS SHALL BE LIABLE OR RESPONSIBLE FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OR FOR ANY OTHER INDIRECT DAMAGE, LOSS, COST OR EXPENSE. SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO THE ABOVE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. THIS WARRANTY GIVES YOU SPECIFIC LEGAL RIGHTS AND YOU MAY ALSO HAVE OTHER RIGHTS WHICH VARY FROM STATE TO STATE.

Any disputes related to this Limited Warranty or The Shade Store products will be governed by the then-current dispute resolution provisions set out in our Terms of Service, located at www.theshadestore.com/corporate-info/terms-and-conditions.


Additional FAQs for Non-Warranty Issues


What if I measured incorrectly?
If you find that your measurements were slightly off and your window treatment does not fit, we will work with you to find a solution. If your window treatment is too wide, we may be able to cut it down for you, and if not, you may be eligible for our “Reorder Discount.”. See below for details.

What if I just don’t love what I ordered?
We want you to love your window treatments. Because all of our products are custom made to order, we do not accept returns. However, if you end up not loving your new product, we can offer you a one-time “Reorder Discount” of 40% off a replacement order, valid for 30 days after your original installation date. Discount is applied to the full price of the replacement product(s); maximum discount may not exceed original order value. Installation charges will apply and are not discounted. No refunds on original purchase.
