A DESIGNER IN HER ELEMENT

The collection is brought to life in Shea’s stunning home (and evolving design lab), which she shares with her
husband Syd and their three children. For inspiration, she looked far and wide: “I pulled lots of vintage textiles,
antique wallpapers, and images from my travels.” Her singular approach to color is also evident, with a calming
palette punctuated with pops of pattern and tone to lend depth. “I love that when you step back, a lot of these
materials have a neutral effect, but when you get closer, you see all of the beautiful, luxe details.”

SOPHISTICATED, YET EFFORTLESS

Rich with texture, nuanced tones and prints, the collection’s striking materials echo Shea’s favorite influences, from
classic Americana to the beauty of nature. Juxtaposing classic with current is also a touchpoint for her aesthetic. “I'm
known for mixing old and new together in one space,” she says. “ I worked really hard to create something that felt
fresh but timeless, that speaks to what my clients ask for, and that will work in many different homes.”

IN CONVERSATION WITH
SHEA MCGEE

HOW DID THIS COLLECTION COME TOGETHER?

It was a really natural fit because I've been working with The Shade Store for years now. They provided the window treatments for our
Netflix show and so many of our client projects, and I have a great working relationship with their team. So when the opportunity arose
for me to create my own collection, I was thrilled.

WHAT WAS YOUR PROCESS LIKE?

I spent a lot of time in my studio creating mood boards, playing with all of the beautiful samples and bringing the concept together. I
wanted to create a collection for a whole home, so it feels differentiated room to room, but cohesive as a whole.

CAN YOU TALK ABOUT WINDOW TREATMENTS IN YOUR DESIGN APPROACH?

For me, it's about the transformative power of layering luxury and personality, allowing the window to become a room's defining
feature. That’s why I always use custom window treatments in all my projects. It's not just about the color and texture, it's about getting
that perfect fit for the window and the proper height and drape. It’s a much higher-end look. That’s the element that really brings a
room together.

ANY TRENDS YOU’RE EXCITED ABOUT?

Motorization! I have it throughout my entire home and it just gives you more of a hotel-like experience. I love that with a quick push of a button, I can close everything in sync—it happens so seamlessly. Also, pattern drenching, which is layering lots of complementary prints
together in a single space. It’s a big trend, and one we’re leaning more into this year. This collection works well for pattern drenching
because it has a mix of larger and micro-sized prints all anchored in a common palette.

DO YOU HAVE A FAVORITE IN THE COLLECTION?

I do love the Stonewash and the Wildvine floral. As a designer, my clients are always looking for timeless yet statement-making window
treatments that feel classic yet contemporary—and also bring some personality to their space. Both fabrics offer that look in
different ways. I also love the gingham. I'd say Ticking Stripe is the most versatile. I'm just going to keep listing them! They all have a
special place in my heart.

WHAT WAS IT LIKE FINALLY SEEING THESE FABRICS THAT YOU CREATED IN YOUR HOME?

Surreal! I walk into my living room and see this beautiful drapery, and I am elated every time because we really hit the mark. We went
through many rounds of samples to get everything perfect. I’m so happy with how it came out.

YOU WEAR SO MANY HATS AND HAVE SUCH A BUSY LIFE—HOW DO YOU UNWIND?

I love to just get away from my desk and go outside, take walks, and just admire the nature around me. I work a lot, and I want my
home to feel restful, calming, and beautiful. Our homes should be our sanctuaries. I hope this collection helps people curate and elevate
their own spaces to bring them joy.
