For the most part, yes. But it does depend on the style. Certain styles of Roman Shades (Flat, Cascade, Pleated and Aventura) are very easy to operate and ideal for everyday use. However, our other styles of Roman Shade (Tulip and Relaxed) are more decorative and a little more high-maintenance to operate on a daily basis. Consider what’s more important to you before making your decision.
Our Romans come with pre-drilled holes in the headrail for easy inside mount installation and are easily outside mounted with L brackets. Please review the installation instructions. They are user friendly! And don't forget, not only can we install for you, we have a team that can walk you through the process.
The amount of stack that the shade has is dependent on the length
of your shade. If your attempting to clear the window try an outside mount above the frame to help ensure there will be enough space.
Yes. Your Roman Shade will provide some insulation benefits as long as you select a liner such as blackout lining or privacy + interlining. This may not be completely effective for windows that have a significant draft. In that case, we recommend adding heavy drapes.
They can be great - It depends on the fabric, the mount and the lining. If you’re looking for total darkness, we suggest adding a cornice and a set of drapes to your order. This is the only way to achieve the “Cave Effect”.
The lifting cords will always be visible from outside. Cords will be visible through the shade on sheer materials. Try moving to a more opaque material or lining the roman to avoid this.
Always clean with a low suction, hand held vacuum or dust with a soft, clean cloth or feather duster.
For dirt/stain removal, we recommend contacting a local window treatment cleaning specialist who can treat your shade ON-SITE typically without even taking it down. Keep in mind that there are many carpet cleaning services that offer this expertise. If helpful, our Customer Care team is happy to do a local search in an effort to assist you.
If unable to locate a window treatment cleaning specialist, consider bringing in a material swatch and discussing with your local dry cleaner.
