Ooh La La! We were so excited to see the anniversary issue of Rue Magazine go live. We had been anxiously awaiting all the great new bits of inspiration from their team.
A huge thank you to Crystal Gentilello over at Rue Magazine. We are honored and excited to be featured in the fabulous story on the renovation of her San Francisco home. Our Roman Shades and Tailored Pleat Drapery made for a wonderfully styled look for her space.
If you haven’t checked out the new issue yet, it is a must. It’s packed with inspired stories and interviews with today’s biggest interior designers, like Sabrina Soto, Target style expert for the home and HGTV designer. Other favorites of ours include the featured studio tour of the Chronicle Books publishing house, and the news of the ladies of Rue teaming up with Gilt City! There’s no stopping this team of trend-spotters!
So, don’t take our word for it, go see it for yourself! And check out more of our own press and reviews here.
There is a great in-depth piece by Real Simple in their May issue that couldn’t have come at a better time, dear Reader!
There are so many ways to create your look with the use of drapery. Real Simple editors reached out to our very own Ian Gibbs to tell you everything you need to know about drapery. Starting from over-all functionality, fabric and color, length and width, to headings and hems, hardware and tie backs, and of course ending with measuring and installation.
Ian also suggests considering a mix of color, texture and patterns to complete your springtime windows. If glare or reflection is a problem in your space from bright sunlight or lake or ocean views [poor you! ;)], you can opt for sheers to obscure the light. Window treatments that span from higher above the window casing all the way to the floor will elongate your walls, and make a smaller room appear larger.
Ian loves to talk about layering solutions, too. Layering decorative window treatments over lighter fabrics will help insulation from both the cold and heat. But you can still keep your sunny views! Check out our portfolio of drapery here.
