Last night in the Hiro Ballroom at the Maritime Hotel in New York, more than 300 fashion industry trendsetters, artists, socialites, entertainers, philanthropists, and business leaders came together to support ArtWorks’ heroes – children courageously battling chronic and life-threatening illnesses. The Shade Store was thrilled to be a part of such an amazing cause. The organization raised over $140K last night.
Since 2002, ArtWorks has been providing children and young adults suffering from chronic and life-threatening illnesses, and their siblings, access to creative and performing arts programs that encourage the use of the creative process as a vehicle for healing, communication, self-expression and personal development.
The live auction was conducted by renowned auctioneer Nicholas D. Lowry of Swann Galleries, and tunes were mixed by DJ’s Chrissie Miller and Leo Fitzpatrick all night long. The space showcased artwork by inspiring children, which was included in the auction. Additional auction items included a Tory Burch handbag, a Kiehl’s Gift Basket, David Letterman and Jimmy Fallon tickets, and select pieces from the Charlotte Ronson 2011 collection, and Helmut Lang apparel.
