1. What is so special about our Roller Shades?
There are several things that
make our Roller Shades stand out from the crowd. For starters, the attention
to detail we put into each shade is what sets us apart. Each Roller
Shade is individual hung and tested to ensure proper size, functionality
and overall appearance. We utilize the best components in the business
to ensure your shades operate smoothly and easily and installation is
a breeze. Our huge selection of exclusive materials offers you options
you will find no where else.
2. Are these shades easy to operate?
Roller Shades in general are
one of the easiest shade styles to operate, bar none. The custom, yet
simple construction allows you to operate even large shades with ease.
All of our Roller Shades come standard with a continuous loop chain
control which helps keep operation smooth and even.
3. I have a great view which I would like to maintain,
is this type of shade a good choice?
One of the best features of
Roller Shades is that when you pull them up they basically disappear.
Unlike other Shades that fold when opened, Roller Shades "roll"
around a tube and end up blocking very little of the window. If maintaining
your view is a concern even when the shades are down you should select
a sheer material and make sure you test a sample. You can also consider
purchasing a solar shade with greater openness.
4. Can this shade block out all the light in my room?
We offer several different
blackout materials in our Roller Shade Collection, however the reality
is none of them will block out 100% of natural light.
If you are going to be mounting the shade within the window [inside
mount] there will be a deduction we will take on the width to ensure
that the shade functions properly and this small "gap" will subsequently
let some light in the sides. Selecting an outside mount will help alleviate
some of the light seepage however then the shade will be projecting
off the wall and there will still be some light still coming in. Depending
on your situation the proper selection of a Reverse Roll or a Regular
Roll can certainly help limit the light seepage. As always don't hesitate
to contact us for advice!
Tip: The
only way to get a true "cave effect" and block all of the light
is to go "hotel-style" and treat your windows with blackout draperies
that close and a cornice above [to prevent light seepage from the top].
5. Will these shades help insulate my windows?
Many of our materials will
certainly reduce glare and cut down on heat. The material you select
will be the biggest determining factor. Free samples are available of
all materials so make sure to test them out in your environment. Solar
Shades are also another good option to consider.
Tip: Consider
stationary Draperies in addition to your Roller Shades. Not only will
this layered approach offer you a truly custom look but the side panels
can also help cut down on any draft.
