Earth Day Garden Walk and More at Wave Hill
Friday, April 22, The Garden Walk starts at 2 p.m., and the Children’s craft project is from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Wave Hill is located at West 249th Street and Independence Avenue in the Bronx.
Go Green & Eat Local Cooking Class at Eataly
Friday, April 22, 6:30 p.m.-8 p.m.
Learn techniques on preparing local fare at Eataly’s cooking school, “La Scuola,” which is run by Lidia Bastianich. Space is limited, but if you can’t make it to the class, book a table at Felidia, which will feature the same Earth Day menu that evening. Eataly, 200 Fifth Avenue; Manhattan, $150. Earth Stroll
Saturday, April 23, at 10am-3pm
Meet live animals, build sand castles and ride in a bike rodeo. Games, live music and ranger-led hikes, too. At Crissy Field Center, 1199 East Beach Dr., the Presidio (near the Marina Blvd. entrance). Free.
Earth Day Celebration at The California Academy of Sciences
Friday, April 22, 9:30am to 5pm

Wilshire Center Earth Day Event

Bike, bus or walk on over to Earth Day & Car Free Day event, which will take place on the lawn at 3700 Wilshire Blvd., between Oxford Ave. and Serrano Ave. This year’s event falls on a Friday, April 22, beginning at 6:00 PM and will feature a drive-in style movie screening of the director’s cut of “Avatar,” a presentation of the Cool District Program and the Carbon Master Plan, face painting for the kids, community booths, e-waste recycling and free tree adoption.
